The original "Turn The World On" premiered on TSIS not so long ago, but the track was a little too 80's, electro-pop'ish for me to stomach. That being said, my taste in EDM is a little heavy, so if you don't like a little kick with your party music, then don't listen to this. Kezwik and Protohype start the mix out Poppy and light (the kind of Dubstep that girls love), but then right around the 1:40 mark, this song turns 180 degrees and rearranges your insides (I mean that in the most flattering of ways). Go a few shots deep, sit down in front of the subwoofer, and you'll see what I mean. Then get back up and rage your face off.

Ed Sheeran - The A Team (Koan Sound Remix)
This is very different from anything I've posted about before. KOAN Sound is a UK producer who I've been giving a lot of love recently, and when I found this remix he did of "The A Team," I knew it would be worth writing about. This song is truly unique. It has the kick-snare, half time beat of Dubstep, yet it maintains the sentimental, dreamlike quality that Ed Sheeran gives the original track. That is what makes this remix the best I have heard of this song. It's not a banger by any means, but the production is top notch, so I have to give it up to KOAN Sound for doing it again. Give it a listen. This guy is seriously talented.

Also, if you haven't heard the original song, it's definitely worth listening to. The music video is one of my favorites.

Major Lazer - Get Free (Yellow Claw remix)
Major Lazer is arguably one of the first major Trap/Moomba/Jungle producers out there and anything they put out is worth a listen to me. I realize I've kind of been on a Trap rampage lately but it's just so damn good! If you've liked any of the past stuff I've posted by Flosstradamus, Major Lazer, Baauer, or CRNKN, then you'll like this. If you didn't like any of that past stuff, buy a bigger sub-woofer.

Chris Brown - Bassline
Dubstep is trending HEAVILY in pop music these days and I'm loving it. First it was Rihanna with her seductive jam, Red Lipstick, who caught my attention, and now it seems Chris Brown has decided to dabble in the genre. In "Bassline" Chris raps over a track that sounds like it was produced by the original Bass Head, Bassnectar. Listen with a solid pair of headphones or speakers and Chris promises that (at least) you "girls [will] like his bassline." Rihanna likes his bassline. Thats for sure.

Tiesto - Lethal Trap Industry (MeauxGreen remix)
Tiesto just got Trapified. The Trance/House legend has been on the scene for a long time and it's refreshing to hear Tiesto in a new genre. This song has all the signature Tiesto elements: Huge, echoey synths, epic builds, and spacial, open ambiance that makes you feel like you're either in a dream or in a giant arena at a music festival. However, the bass line is very Trap oriented which makes this song like nothing I have ever heard. I love it! Make sure you listen to this with headphones or BIG speakers.

KOAN Sound - Look Who's Back
I really just wanted another chance to draw attention to KOAN Sound. This guy is reinventing Funk music. Simple as that. Add a few fresh bars from UK rap duo Former Beggars and you get straight fire!

CRNKN live at Boston's Middle East night club
ATTENTION ALL BOSTON AREA! DL New Hampshire producer CRNKN only recently came onto my radar, but I've been checking out his stuff lately and it is HOT. Whats even more exciting is that he is playing a set at Cambridge night club, The Middle East, Tuesday August 14th! Check out the event on Facebook or buy tickets now for 10 bucks at TicketWeb. But LADIES, if you go before 10:00, you go free. I've talked a lot about Trap and Moomba and its potential for fun parties, and now is you're chance to see for yourself. Here's some of his best.
Futuristic Cypher - My Homies Still (remix)
This guy Future took Wayne's beat and absolutely murdered it! For those of you who don't know, that's a good thing. Download at their website http://www.onlyfuturistic.com/ while it's still free because Futuristic is going to blow up for sure.
High Rankin and Tigerlight - Hundred Miles High
This is quite possibly the hardest, heaviest, meanest Dubstep I have heard in some time. The bass line reminds me of Borgore, a self-proclaimed "Gorestep" DJ who I posted about last month. Take that as you may. The vocals are weird, but you serious Dub fans out there wont care. Needless to say, this song is not for the faint of heart. Give it a listen... if you dare. However, if you don't have a decent subwoofer, don't even bother. In fact, don't even bother with this website. Go home and rethink your life. Or just buy a better subwoofer. Until then, I will pray for you.

YoungBloodZ feat. Lil' Jon - Damn! (MISCHIEF R∑miχ)
It's official. I love Trap music. It's the best party fuel out there, and I think it's time we learned a little about where it came from. Originating in the south, Trap music is Hip-Hop's response to the electronic craze that is sweeping the nation. The subtle builds and drops along with the heavy, bouncing bass of Dirty South became signature to artists such as T.I., Jeezy, Lil Webby, and of course, Lil Jon. Add a little more electronic, and boom, you've got Trap.

Dream - This Isn't House
This most certainly is not House. Dream, the relatively unrecognized London producer, is now debuting in the US, signing with Skrillex's OWSLA label... and he is DOPE! This really reminds me of Dubstep back when it was first being born. Fundamental Dub at its best. Comparable, I would say, to fellow London producer, Rusko. This is a set comprised of the original mix as well as a few remixes. You can decide which one you like best but I still prefer the original. Download courtesy of This Song Is Sick.com.

Throwback Jams
Throwbacks to somewhere around the end of freshman year have been coming up on shuffle recently and I want to make sure everyone has these essentials. First off, when someone tells you they have a mash up of Biggie rapping over Pavarotti, you immediately investigate.
Now this next one is one of the most played songs on my iTunes so I had to pay my respects. For many people the theme song to NBC's, The Office, has become iconic. To hear that tune mixed into an instrumental and then mixed again with Weezy's, "Hustler Musik," (before he started to suck) absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it.

Flosstradamus - Rollup (Baauer Remix)
Keeping with the theme, and increasing popularity, of Trap music, here is another jam from Trap king Flosstradamus. I've posted several of his songs on this site already but his most memorable work for me still is his remix of Major Lazer's "Original Don", one of my all time favorites. This is also the second showing of Baauer on this site this month! Possible artist on the rise? I can't wait to see what comes next from him. Check it out.
Face Off - Flatbush Zombie
By now I'm sure most people have heard of the incident in Miami involving "bath salts" and a crazed, face-eating homeless man. In hindsight of the ridiculous situation, it is only appropriate that a rap group known as Flatbush Zombie (how fitting) decided to make a ridiculous song in homage called "Face Off." After an audio sample from a news report on the incident, the rap duo goes off demonstrating how drugs can really fuck up your mind set... It's violent and degrading on a scale that almost reminds me of Odd Future. Watch out Tyler, you've got competition.

B#tch City (3LAU Bootleg)
For all you lucky bastards heading to Randals Island at the end of summer for 2012's Electric Zoo, 3LAU is the act to see! This guy is the KING of mashing party-fueling bangers with radio pop music. I never thought I would be ragging to Adele or Roxette's, "Listen To Your Heart," but when they are set to a bass-bumping, electro anthem by R3hab it couldn't be easier to believe. I'll be down south at SMU already, but to all my New Yorkers, Sunday is the day to go and 3LAU is the man to see. Trust me. B#tch City is off of 3LAU's second EP, "Dance Floor Filth 2" (from which I already posted the popular "Petty Language"), and you should definitely check out the whole thing.

Zedd - Spectrum (feat. Matthew Koma)
This track has been circulating for a while now but I hadn't found a solid stream until recently. Zedd KILLS this one, and I have never really been a sucker for Zedd. Buy the whole song on iTunes, but enjoy this sample stream for free. Also download 3LAU's free progressive house remix. It's actually very similar with just a few added synths that, in my opinion clutter it up too much (I like the original better, but hey, this version is free).
