Zion I - Human (Bassnectar Remix)

If you don't know Zion I, get familiar.  The rap duo has been around for quite some time and have managed to maintain their underground sound.  Naturally, this attracts artists of the likes of Bassnectar; the king of sampling underground music.  Once you get nice and friendly with Zion I, listen to Bassnectar pump these bars full of bass.

Here's some more from Zion I to help you get started.

"Titanium" cover by The Piano Guys

I love when classical artists do covers of House and Electronic hits.  The transition seems so natural that it really makes you think about how little music has really changed.  Electronic and House music have very distinct ties to classical music, and I think this video illustrates that very well.  Here's David Guetta like you've never heard him before.

Lake Street Dive Plays "I Want You Back" On a Boston Sidewalk

This band has been around since May but they seem to just be surfacing. Regardless, I absolutely love their sound.  Check out this video of a raw recording that they did on a sidewalk somewhere in the Boston suburbs.  Her voice reminds me of the jazzy, burlesque, alto solos signature of the 1920's.  Long story short it's sexy as hell.  Check out Lake Street Dive and their EP Fun Machine that dropped sometime back in May.

3LAU in Boston!!

I'm excited to announce the arrival of one of my favorite DJs to the Boston music scene.  From fueling wild clubs in Las Vegas to rocking the main stage at Electric Zoo, 2012 has been a huge year for electro/house DJ, 3LAU.  Now, for those of us lucky enough to go to school in the Boston area (or just happen to be around), 3LAU will be bringing down the house at my favorite Boston venue, The House of Blues this Friday night.  Check out Live Nation for tickets and get ready for one of the best concerts of the year.

Here's some of my favorites.

Frank Ocean - Super Rich Kids (ft. Earl Sweatshirt)

I have gotten caught up lately posting only new music, and I feel like I have started to lose sight of the purpose of this website; to share good music.  That being said, Frank Ocean dropped his album Channel Orange this summer and this song really stood out to me.  It has a message that should resonate with a few of us I think...  Gotta love Frank and the boys at Odd Future.

Flowers (prod. by Diplo) - Lil Twist ft. Lil Wayne & Chris Brown

I don't even care if Lil Wayne has lost his lyrical genius.  Diplo can make anything sound like GOLD.  From a production standpoint, this is an instant favorite.  I mean just listen to the instrumental!!  Ignore the words if you have to but this song BUMPS.  This is where I see Trap music finding its way into the main stream;  with songs like this one.  I always thought Trap needed another dimension to really pull in the fans, and a few bars from Weezy seems to be doing the trick!  "Clique" did it too with help from the kings of hip-hop, and look where that took them; to the top charts on iTunes.  Enough said.

Sub Focus - Tidal Waves (Ft. Alpines)

Following the trend of poppy dubstep, Sub Focus has come out with this incredibly catchy tune that I could see making its way onto some US radio stations.  Great production with an excellent choice of vocals to go over it.  Also, for you hard-hitting dub fans, I've included a remix by KillSonic that takes the original to a new level, reminding me of some of skrillex's early work.

Alesso feat. Matthew Koma - Years (Official Video HD)

I found this inspirational music video from Alesso's summer, feel good tune, "Years" and I had to share it.  It follows Alesso as he progresses through his career as a musician, starting with his first synthesizer.  It's different from many of the other electronic music video's that have been coming out, and is definitely worth a watch.  Enjoy.

NEATO - 3 Loco (aka. Andy Milonakis, Dirt Nasty, and Mike Clattenburg)

This song is hilarious and really catchy at the same time.  That, my friends, is a recipe for an instant classic.  Iv'e been a fan of Andy Milonakis since the Andy Milonakis show back in the day, and, as for Dirt Nasty, I haven't heard much from him since his HUGE hit a few years back, "1980."  That's a dynamic duo if I've ever seen one, and they DOMINATE this song.  Enjoy.
